How MexicoWise is put together
The short version: six writers who live in the places they cover, facts that get re-checked on a schedule, and verdicts we actually mean.
Who we are
MexicoWise is written by six people, each based in the part of Mexico they cover — not a pool of freelancers writing about places they've never been. If a byline says someone lives in Oaxaca City, they live in Oaxaca City.
How we keep facts current
Every checkable fact on this site — a price, an entry fee, a schedule — carries a "last verified" date and a fixed re-review cadence, so it doesn't just sit there quietly going stale. Destination pages carry a "last visited" stamp from the author who wrote them. And nothing publishes without a named author standing behind it.
Honest verdicts
When something isn't worth your time or money, we say so. "Skip it" is a real verdict here, not a hedge dressed up in polite language. If a verdict reads as lukewarm, that's because the place is lukewarm — not because we're avoiding an opinion.
How we make money
Some links on this site may be affiliate links, and we mark them clearly when they are. Money never reorders our advice — a verdict doesn't change because a link pays better. If we ever add sponsored content, it will be labeled as exactly that.
